SkyLink expands

Russian CDMA-450 operator SkyLink has launched a network in the Kaluga region using equipment supplied by Huawei Technologies. SkyLink says it has coverage in two cities in the region at present, with plans for an expansion to three more cities by the end of the year. The cellco, which now covers 24 of the country’s 89 regions, says it had 305,000 subscribers at the start of the year and expects to have increased this to almost 500,000 by December.
