Globe launches 3G wireless datacard service, Globe Visibility

22 Sep 2006

Filipino mobile operator Globe Telecom has launched a 3G mobile datacard service for laptop users, called Globe Visibility. The launch is a response to PLDT’s rival unlimited internet access service, WeRoam, launched last year. For PHP2,000 (USD40) per month, Globe Visibility users will receive a PC datacard with a subscriber identity module (SIM) that can access internet and data only. The service connects to Globe’s 3G network, particularly those cell sites already upgraded with HSDPA technology. It is also able to ‘step down’ to use available GPRS networks, which are more widely dispersed in the country.
