Serbia has announced the launch of a tender for the country’s third wireless network operator, with an opening price of USD410 million. The new concession will be valid for a ten year period and will be automatically extended for another ten years. The Serbian Telecommunications Agency said bidders must have more than three million wireless subscribers and an 2005 annual profit of at least USD640 million. Interested parties have until 3 November to submit offers, with the winner expected to be announced on 15 November. The country’s two existing cellcos – Mobi 063 and MTS – are barred from entering the tender.
