New service for New Testament

21 Sep 2006

A Christian group has released a version of the bible for South African mobile phone users. The local arm of the International Bible Society says customers can download the entire bible, in either English or Afrikaans-language formats, for ZAR40 (USD5.41). The group says 80% of South African mobile users have handsets which can support the service, dubbed Virtual Bible, which requires a java-enabled phone with 1.2MB of memory and internet access.
