Afghan Wireless launches cut-price night time tariff

18 Sep 2006

Afghan Wireless has announced the launch of Night Talk, a tariff which allows subscribers to make and receive ‘on network’ calls for as little as AFA1.5 (USD0.03) per minute between the hours of 11pm and 7am. Night Talk was first launched in March 2006 as a special two month promotion, but quickly proved extremely popular and led to the operator reporting a 50% increase in traffic.

Afghan Wireless was the first GSM operator in Afghanistan, launching services in Kabul in April 2002. At the end of August the company claimed coverage of all major towns/cities in the country and a subscriber base of over 700,000.
