Excel to invest USD500 million in 2007

Indonesian mobile operator PT Excelcomindo Pratama (Excel) has set aside USD500 million for capital expenditure in 2007, according to reports in Asia Today. The company is planning to spend a similar sum to 2006 in its attempt to expand its market share. The cellco’s controlling shareholder Telekom Malaysia hopes to make Excel the second largest telecoms company in Indonesia, behind Telkom.
