OneLink teams up with Centennial for cable voice service

12 Sep 2006

Fixed line and wireless operator Centennial Communications Puerto Rico yesterday announced a strategic alliance with the island’s largest cableco OneLink Communications to offer voice telephony to the 140,000 customers served by the latter’s cable TV network in San Juan and neighbouring regions. Under the agreement, Centennial will provide OneLink with service applications and connectivity to its public switched network, enabling OneLink to add broadband telephony to its existing suite of TV, internet and video-on-demand services. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, OneLink had 22,000 users of its Power Link broadband cable modem internet service at the end of June 2006; it joins Liberty Cablevision as Puerto Rico’s second triple-play cable operator.
