The French mobile operator Société Française de Radiotéléphone (SFR) has confirmed it is holding talks to purchase domestic fixed line rival Tele2 France, writes Reuters. The cellco’s chief executive officer Frank Esser told reporters that the acquisition will allow it to accelerate the development of its fixed line operations in France: ‘With Tele2, we would be acquiring a customer base of 300,000 (ADSL broadband) customers…This is why we are in talks with Tele2’, he said.
