Deutsche Telekom to offer ubiquitous broadband by 2012

11 Sep 2006

Deutsche Telekom will offer broadband internet access to every German citizen by the year 2012 at the latest, its chief executive Kai-Uwe Ricke has said. The move will be possible because the incumbent telco, which according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms had a 60% share of Germany’s broadband market at the end of March 2006, is planning to switch its entire PSTN to a new IP network.
