Craig Wireless to launch ‘Internet Everywhere’ in Greece

11 Sep 2006

Canadian wireless access provider Craig Wireless is planning to launch commercial WiMAX services in Greece by the end of October under the ‘Internet Everywhere’ brand. Based on a WiMAX solution supplied by Nortel, the new network will deliver high speed services such as VoIP, videoconferencing and interactive gaming to areas that currently have limited or no access to broadband service. Craig Wireless is initially aiming to cover Athens, Heraklion, Patras and Thessaloniki, and plans to expand to other areas in 2007. In 2005, it acquired spectrum in the 3.5GHz band from Europrom, a Greek company controlled by the Copelouzos Group.
