CTI Movil sets up network in Antarctica

BNamericas reports that Argentinian cellco CTI Movil and Finnish vendor Nokia have set up a ten line, EDGE-capable network in the Antarctic base of Marambio, allowing military and civilian personnel to keep in contact with their families at home. CTI claims to have installed 246 new base stations this year, to take its total to 2,600, covering over 2,000 cities and villages.
