6 Sep 2006

Four firms have submitted bids for the two remaining 3G concessions in Romania. As reported in yesterday’s CommsUpdate, Cosmote Romania has confirmed that it will be entering the auction. Now Catalin Marinescu of the country’s General Inspectorate for Communications and IT has said that Telemobil (Zapp), National Radio Communications (SNR) and cable operator RCS&RDS have also submitted bids. Telecom Paper reports that the fifth company to pre-qualify, Combridge SRL, which is owned by Magyar Telecom, has withdrawn from the auction.
