Bitë expands GSM coverage to 90% of population

Latvia’s newest cellco, TDC subsidiary Bitë Latvia, says its GSM mobile network now covers 46 towns and cities, equal to 90% of the population and 67% of the territory. In its latest phase of rollout, the company expanded to 13 towns, including Piltene, Grobiņa and Brocēni in Kurzeme, Zilupe in Latgale, Ainaži, Vangaži, Baloži, Ikšķile, Lielvārde, Varakļāni and Seda in Vidzeme, Kalnciems and Jaunjelgava in Zemgale. Bitë is continuing to expand its network and is currently improving services covering the country’s most heavily used transport routes.
