TDMA switch-off delayed

31 Aug 2006

The Telecommunications Service of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) has extended its deadline for the closure of its TDMA wireless network by eight days to midnight on 8 September. The outdated network had been scheduled to be switched off at midnight tonight, but a late surge of TDMA customers wanting to switch to the GSM network has meant that the telco has run out of GSM handsets.
