Starcomms expands network

Nigerian telco Starcomms has expanded its CDMA network with the rollout of new cell sites in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano. Further sites are planned for these cities and also in Maidguri by the end of the year. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms, Starcomms had 250,000 subscribers by the end of 2005 and was the first operator to deploy 3G services in the west of Africa.
