Siemens wins Polkomtel contract

Polish cellco Polkomtel has commissioned Siemens to manage its 2G and 3G network roll out. Starting from October 2006, Siemens will have full responsibility for managing the design, development and implementation of the GSM and W-CDMA networks in the southern, eastern and central regions of Poland; the contract is set to run for three years. Under the terms of the deal Siemens will manage the 2G and 3G radio network expansion in a turnkey project covering everything from the acquisition of real estate, procurement of the required permits, project implementation and the co-ordination of deliveries, right through to supervision during the building phase and network installation.
