O2 Ireland to enter broadband market

Telefónica-owned O2 Ireland has announced that it plans to invest EUR250 million (USD319.8 million) in providing broadband services over its mobile network. The cellco said the network will reach 60% population coverage by the end of 2006 and 80% by the end of 2007. Ericsson Ireland has been awarded the contract to build the network with trials taking place over the next two months.
