The New Zealand division of Siemens has said that it has received the first shipments of WiMAX CPEs. Siemens is reselling equipment provided by Israeli vendor Alvarion. Alvarion has shipped its new BreezeMAX Si indoor consumer units which are self-install and work indoors without an external aerial. The arrival of the first end-user units for WiMAX systems means that a commercial launch of the wireless broadband networks should not be too far away. Siemens is providing WiMAX equipment to the likes of TelstraClear according to M-Net in New Zealand.
