21 Aug 2006

RomTelecom says it is continuing its broadband internet investment and is still hoping to have attracted 150,000 ADSL subscribers by the end of the year. The firm currently has around 70,000 broadband customers, up from 12,000 at the start of 2006. Its dial-up internet base stands at around 100,000. The firm’s chief commercial officer, Pieter Bakker, told local financial newspaper Ziarul Financiar: ‘The share of the revenues generated by the ADSL customers in the total internet revenues for 2006 amounts to 50%.’ Half of this ADSL revenue comes from business customers, he added.
