The Russian cellular operator SMARTS has begun beta testing mobile TV services. Trials are being held in a number of cities and are expected to continue until next month. TV content is being supplied by Moscow-based firm A1, which offers five channels for 14 to 30 year-olds according to Prime Tass. SMARTS has GSM cellular networks in 16 Russian regions covering a population of 33.9 million. It claimed 3.3 million subscribers at the end of June.
