Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has chosen Siemens to supply W-CDMA 3G equipment for networks in the north of the country. The contract also provides for the supply of 3G systems to cover the rest of Saudi Arabia, although a time frame for their installation has not been given. Dr. Ziad Al-Otaibi, Vice President of Saudi Telecom, said: ‘We will continue to expand W-CDMA coverage in the country in the future, both geographically and in terms of subscriber capacity.’
