VolgaTelecom takes mobile stakes

The Russian telco VolgaTelecom has paid a total of USD23.3 million to take full control of three regional mobile operators. According to Interfax it paid USD4.3 million for 60% of Penza Mobile, USD10.1 million for 70% of Chuvashia Mobile and USD8.9 million for 50% of Saratov Mobile. VolgaTelecom is part of the state-run telecoms group Svyazinvest.
