Vidéotron launches MVNO service

14 Aug 2006

Quebec-based cable operator Vidéotron has launched an MVNO service over Rogers Communications’ wireless network, giving new and existing customers in the Quebec City area the option of purchasing the mobile service as part of a discounted bundle with cable and internet products. It plans to offer the full bundle to its entire subscriber base by the end of the year. Over the past 18 months, Vidéotron has expanded beyond its traditional cable base into IP telephony, putting it in closer competition with Bell Canada. The company has signed up 283,000 customers to its VoIP service to date.
