14 Aug 2006

Polkomtel has awarded Ericsson a three-year managed services contract to manage the design, development, deployment and integration of a new 2G/3G network in northern and western Poland, from 1 October 2006. According to Thomas Eberle, Polkomtel’s Technical Director ‘Ericsson’s experience in managing similar complex projects makes it the right partner to develop our network with superior quality while we can focus on meeting our customers’ expectations to reinforce our market position.’ Under the contract, 20 employees from Polkomtel’s technical department will be transferred to Ericsson. The managed services contract complements the previous network implementation agreement between Ericsson and the operator. Polkomtel will remain the owner of the network.
