Probe finds no evidence of collusion

A government probe into Russia’s three main cellcos, MTS, Vimpelcom and MegaFon, has failed to unearth any signs of market collusion. The investigation was launched when the trio simultaneously introduced tariff rises last month, although the operators claim the rises were not orchestrated and came in response to the ending of the calling-party-pays (CPP) regime at the start of July. The probe is still ongoing, although investigators have admitted that it is unlikely they will find written evidence of collusion, even if it had taken place.
