10 Aug 2006

Indonesian fixed and mobile operator Indosat has launched a post-paid fixed wireless access (FWA) service in the Palembang area under its Starone Postpaid brandings. The telco’s CDMA-based service is now available to contract (Starone Postpaid) and pre-paid (Jagoan) users in the area. The company is offering special introductory promotional rates to bolster take-up, such as the offer of low tariffs from local Jagoan and Starone Postpaid users to local Indosat cellular (Matrix, Mentari and IM3) numbers, and low-cost internet access. Starone is now available in eight cities in Indonesia – Jakarta, Bogor, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Batam, Pekanbaru and Palembang.
