StarHub, Mediacorp use ST Microelectronics for HDTV trials

ST Microelectronics, which supplies microchips for set-top boxes, says it is conducting trials of HDTV services with local operators StarHub and Mediacorp using its STi710x family of highly-integrated H.264/AVC decoder chip. The trials, which started in June, are being conducted over StarHub’s high-definition cable network and for Mediacorp’s terrestrial digital HDTV trial.
