Danish telco TDC has posted second quarter sales of DKK11.602 billion (USD1.99 billion), up 1.8% on the DKR11.396 billion reported the year earlier, reflecting mainly increased sales in TDC Solutions and TDC Mobile International. Adjusted for acquired and divested companies, sales for the three months ended 30 June 2006 fell 0.3% from the year earlier, mainly as a result of lower sales in TDC Switzerland. Second quarter EBITDA fell 0.7% to DKK3.175 billion from DKK3.196 billion, negatively impacted by the lower revenue in TDC Switzerland as well as higher operating costs. Net earnings fell to DKK561 million from DKK1.366 billion, due to increasing net financial expenses and higher tax charges. CAPEX for the quarter totalled DKK1.29 billion. During the period TDC’s customer base grew by 11.8% to 15.7 million, driven mainly by its international operations including Talkline (Germany) and Bite (Latvia and Lithuania).
