iPass inks roaming deal covering 1,000 Telstra hotspots

Global wireless internet access provider iPass has signed a deal with Australian incumbent Telstra giving its users access to more than 1,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. Telstra’s hotspot coverage is concentrated in Sydney and Melbourne’s central business districts as well as parts of other state capitals including Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane and Darwin. ‘Our footprint will grow from just over 700 global fixed and wireless roaming broadband connections to near on 1,800 locations,’ iPass spokesman John Cunningham said.
