Maxcom continues growth

Mexican fixed line operator Maxcom said its number of fixed lines in service increased by 26% year-on-year to 237,179 in the three months ended 30 June 2006. 2Q06 revenues increased 36% to MXN387.5 million (USD35.7 million) and EBITDA grew 45% to reach MXN104.9 million. During the second quarter of the year, the monthly churn rate for voice lines remained steady at 1.6%. In March Maxcom agreed to acquire long-distance carrier Grupo Telereunin, which operates 480km of fibre-optic rings and 4,300km of national backbone with a border crossing into McAllen, Texas.
