Motorola has revealed that it has signed an agreement with Softbank for the deployment of a 2.5GHz WiMAX trial network in Tokyo, due to begin in September 2006 and expected to last five months. Motorola will supply an end-to-end trial system, including five access points, an access network and 25 prototype WiMAX mobile handheld devices.
