Italy’s telecoms regulator Agcom says the country’s telephony markets were worth EUR36 billion in 2005, up 4.3% on the year before. The mobile market grew 7.8% to EUR19.6 billion, while the fixed line sector was stable at around EUR16.5 billion. The largest growth was seen in the internet market, which saw overall revenues rise by 20% to reach EUR3.3 billion in 2005. Agcom says it expects the total market to be worth approximately EUR36.8 billion in 2006.
