iHug up for sale

The struggling Australian internet provider iiNet is looking for a buyer for its New Zealand division iHug. ZDNet Australia reports that iiNet already has potential buyers lined up, with sources suggesting TelstraClear as one possibility. iiNet acquired iHug three years ago and has since built up a base of 120,000 internet subscribers, including more than 20,000 broadband customers, making it the country’s third largest ISP behind Telecom and TelstraClear. But the financially troubled parent company is now looking to concentrate on its domestic operations.
