Blackberry prompts e-mail push

19 Jul 2006

The impending introduction of Blackberry mobile e-mail devices by Taiwan Mobile has prompted rival operators to launch their own e-mail services. Info World Daily reports that Asia Pacific Wireless Broadband plans to offer push e-mail by the end of this year and is already selling handsets from Motorola and Samsung which will support the service. Meanwhile, Chunghwa Telecom and Vibo Telecom are offering phones which incorporate PDA features. Far EasTone has led the Taiwanese mobile e-mail sector, introducing push e-mail services last year.
