Tele2 in new Russian buys

The Swedish telecoms group Tele2 says it has acquired four new mobile operations in north-western Russia. Tele2, which is the fourth largest cellular operator in Russia, has paid USD35 million for 100% of Vostok Mobile Northwest, which owns ZAO Arkhangelsk Mobile Networks, ZAO Novgorod Telecommunications, ZAO Murmansk Mobile Network and Parma Mobile. Reuters reports that the four operations have 250,000 subscribers between them.
