The 3G licence of LG Telecom has been revoked after the Ministry of Communication and Information decided that the cellco had not made enough progress towards launching next-generation mobile services. The decision, taken last Friday, is expected to be formally announced on Wednesday, and could have implications for LG Telecom CEO Nam Yong: under current law any person involved in the acquisition of a licence must step down if that licence is subsequently cancelled.
