BayanTel requests licences to operate in provinces

Filipino operator Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) has submitted a request to the regulator, the National Telecommunications Commission, asking it to extend its fixed line licence, due to expire on 25 July, for another three years so it can roll out services to more provinces outside Metro Manila. If approved, BayanTel will have authority to install and manage networks in the southern provinces of Antique, Iloilo, Bohol, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Sur, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Sarangani and Surigao del Sur.
