Magyar Telekom selects Comverse, Huawei for applications solutions

Hungary’s dominant fixed line operator Magyar Telekom has selected Comverse Technology and Huawei Technologies of China to provide network infrastructure and applications for its mobile and fixed line businesses. The manufacturers will supply the telco with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks and applications such as instant messaging in Hungary for Magyar Telekom’s T-Com and T-Mobile units. In a statement, Magyar Telekom’s Chief Technical Officer Peter Janeck said: ‘IMS will enable us to deliver converged, rich content of telephony, high speed internet, cable television and mobile services over a single converged network.’
