Vodafone Ireland has launched a flat-rate 3G mobile internet access offer, called Vodafone Unlimited Data, costing EUR49 per month. The company says the launch marks a first for Ireland, making it possible for customers to have unlimited access to e-mail and the internet anytime, for a fixed monthly price. Before the end of 2006 Vodafone plans to announce the official launch of its new so-called ‘3.5G’ network which uses High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology. The launch will take place initially in Dublin before service coverage is expanded countrywide. The HSPDA network will utilise Vodafone’s 3G network which already caters for its 250,000 3G customers.
