Etisalat reveals 1H profits

Emirates Telecommunications Company (Etisalat) has announced that in the six months ended 30 June 2006 it made a net profit of AED2.813 billion (USD765 million) after royalty payments, a 33% increase on the same period of 2005. Etsisalat, which last week secured Eqypt’s third wireless licence, served more than 4.995 million domestic wireless customers at the same date, with 1.266 million fixed line and 578,000 internet customers.
