4 Jul 2006

Nepal Telecom (NT) has announced plans to introduce a range of mobile phones based on CDMA technology before the end of this month. The state-run telco previously introduced CDMA phones for WiLL applications in February and now plans to issue a further 12,000 to 14,000 pre-paid CDMA handsets in the capital, Kathmandu. It is also hoping to introduce a new wireless datacard product, dubbed Y-Max Cards, enabling subscribers to download and transfer data at a faster rate than conventional dial-up speeds.
