Spanish 3G start-up Xfera Móviles has appointed a new seven-member board of directors following its takeover by TeliaSonera of Sweden. The company will be headed up by a newly appointed President, Johan Andsjo, former head of the mobile business of TeliaSonera Sweden. The bulk of directors are also drawn from the Scandinavian group, with the notable exception being Chairman Angel Garcia Altozano, Corporate General Manager of Spanish construction company Actividades de Construcción y Servicios (ACS). Antonio Canton, who had been President of Xfera since its formation in 2001, will remain as an advisor to the company for at least a year. TeliaSonera has increased its stake in Xfera from 16.55% to 76.6%, whilst ACS holds 20% and Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas owns 3.4%.
