Uralsvyazinform signs up four million mobile users

The mobile subscriber base of Russian fixed line and cellular network operator Uralsvyazinform reached 4.001 million as of this week, up from 3.674 million at the end of 2005, an increase of 8.9%, the company said in a press release yesterday. Uralsvyazinform, partly owned by state telecoms holding group Svyazinvest, is the leading regional telco in the Urals Federal District and Perm region. As of 1 June its number of fixed lines in service stood at 3.6 million, up from 3.58 million at end-2005.
