Singapore’s leading telecoms service provider by subscribers, Singapore Telecom (SingTel), has announced plans to trial a Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2 (VDSL2) broadband network. It is developing the technology with Ericsson and hopes to deploy it across its entire copper wire network offering customers access speeds of up to 100Mbps. SingTel hopes the upgrade will enable it to offer its customers a triple-play – voice, video and data – service.
