Value First aims to be the first of its kind

19 Jun 2006

Value First, a data service provider, has announced that it will launch Romania’s first mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service. Its decision to enter the Romanian market was influenced by the lack of operators offering consumers ‘carrier-class mobile data services’, and the relatively high cellular penetration in the country – 61.2% at end-2005, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database. As Romania is strategically located between Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Value First sees the launch as the first step in its expansion into other regions. It plans to expand its operation in other east European countries and the Middle East within a year, according to Vijay Shukla, head of international sales.
