Claro finalises restructuring plan

According to BNamericas, Brazilian mobile phone operator Claro Telecom Participações (Claro) has entered the final phase of its restructuring to simplify its ownership. Claro’s São Paulo-based unit BCP, is currently restructuring Brasília-based Americel and Porto Alegre-based Telet, and by the start of July all of Claro’s companies should be under the BCP holding group. In 2005 Claro incorporated its other telecom companies into BCP including Tess, which operates on São Paulo’s coast and countryside; BSE and Stemar in Brazil’s northeast; Minas Gerais state; and ATL in Espírito Santo state.
