Tele2 ups stake in Siberian cellco to 100%

Swedish mobile group Tele2 has increased its stake in regional cellco Siberian Cellular Communications from 70% to 100%; it did not release any further details of the deal. In February, Tele2 increased its stake in the unit to 70% by purchasing a 10% stake from Sibirtelecom. According to Tele2, Siberian Cellular Communications controls around 35% of mobile subscribers in the Omsk region. At the end of 2005 Tele2 Russia reported a total of 3.274 million consolidated subscribers, a 2.6% market share. It holds controlling stakes in 14 regional cellcos.
