Cablecom denies suggestions that it's up for sale

Cablecom, owned by Liberty Global, has hit back at local newspaper L’Agefi after the publication ran a story yesterday saying that its US parent had contracted a major Zurich-based bank to find a buyer for the Swiss cable network operator. A spokesperson for Cablecom said simply that ‘the report is wrong’. Liberty Global acquired Cablecom in Q3 2005 in a deal worth USD2.2 billion. At the end of 2005 Cablecom – the only national cable operator in Switzerland – claimed a 19.7% market share of the country’s retail broadband subscribers.
