Irish public broadcaster partners BT for mobile TV trial

RTÉ has reportedly teamed up with BT Ireland to begin a mobile TV trial covering the Greater Dublin area and the North East of the country. The broadcaster is supplying its flagship RTÉ One and RTÉ Two TV channels for the trial, plus radio stations RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ 2fm, in a pilot designed to test the viability of offering mobile TV commercially. The pair are gearing up for a commercial launch later this year using BT’s recently named mobile TV platform BT Movio.
