Telenor launches ADSL2+ services, extends broadband availability

Norwegian fixed line incumbent Telenor has launched commercial ADSL2+ broadband services for residential and business customers offering downlink speeds of up to 16Mbps. The telco has also extended the availability of its introductory broadband service, ADSL Mini, to regions previously out of reach of its ADSL-enabled exchanges. ADSL Mini offers broadband at speeds of between 160kbps and 864kbps download and 128kbps-256kbps uplink, depending on line quality and distance to the exchange.

Telenor has revamped its entire broadband portfolio and now offers five ADSL products: Online ADSL Mini 700kbps/160kbps (up/down) for NOK299 (USD48.5) per month; Online ADSL Basis 1.5Mbps/300kbps, NOK349 per month; Online ADSL Pluss 3Mbps/300kbps, NOK419 per month; Online ADSL Ekstra 6Mbps/500kbps, NOK499; and the top of the range Online ADSL Max 16Mbps/700kbps at NOK549.
